Meet the Team
Nick Fatseas, CPA
Nick is the founder of Riser Accounting and a CPA with a career of experience helping businesses fully achieve their potential. This experience includes both public accounting and corporate finance in the private sector. Nick's work includes organizations in the energy, manufacturing, not-for-profit, healthcare services, and staffing sectors, both publicly and privately held.
Born and raised in Maryland, Nick graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Accounting. His passion for the outdoors, particularly the mountains, led him to Colorado in 2011, where he now lives with his wife and children. When he's not helping businesses reach new heights, he can often be found enjoying the Colorado mountains with his family.
Nick's ability to foster teamwork, autonomy, and leadership at all levels of an organization while offering detailed technical analysis and executive management advice has made him a popular choice among clients due to his open and approachable style.
Ben Gunter
Ben joined Riser Accounting in 2023 as a Controller, where he leads outsourced accounting engagements for nonprofits and small businesses. With over 15 years of extensive experience in corporate accounting, he has developed a deep expertise across a diverse range of industries, including Not-For-Profit, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Healthcare Services, Automotive, and Property Management. Ben specializes in full-cycle accounting, treasury management, month-end close processes, and audit facilitation, with a strong focus on driving operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.
A seasoned accounting leader, Ben has a proven track record of optimizing financial workflows and providing strategic insights that support organizational growth. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Austin College and is currently pursuing his MBA at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, further enhancing his leadership and financial acumen.
Born and raised in Texas, Ben is deeply committed to delivering impactful solutions that drive success for his clients and their businesses.
Claire Pikor Outsourced Senior Accountant
Claire Pikor joined Riser Accounting in 2025 as an Outsourced Senior Accountant, bringing extensive experience in financial management for nonprofits and small businesses across Colorado. She oversees accounting engagements with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and strategic financial guidance.
Claire earned her B.S. and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Colorado Denver in 2021. She began her career at Peak Tax Group, providing bookkeeping and tax services for small businesses. Seeking broader experience, she joined KPMG as an Associate, working with publicly traded energy companies and gaining insight into complex financial structures and regulatory compliance.
In 2024, Claire transitioned from public accounting to align her expertise with her passion for nonprofits. This led her to Riser Accounting, where she helps mission-driven organizations and small businesses navigate financial challenges. Her analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights make her a trusted advisor for sustainable growth.
